Molded Port Outlet VHS® Series Solenoid Valve

This 6 mm, 2-way (2/2) dispensing solenoid valve achieves accurate fluid regulation and dispenses precision droplets in the nanoliter to milliliter range when connected to a downstream nozzle. The molded outlet port is designed for connection to 1/32″ ID flexible tubing and a precision nozzle downstream. This permits nozzles to be placed closer than valve center to center distance allows, enabling the valve to be located remotely and saving space at the dispense head. Compatible straight tube nozzles are available and can be pushed directly into tubing, enabling rapid iterative testing of various jeweled orifices. With the addition of a mounting sleeve, the valve can also be manifold mounted which enables the precise injection of fluids directly into flow streams. Available in two inlet port options, these valves are ideal for precision dispensing applications in diagnostics and biotech, including lateral flow strip manufacturing, well plate dispensing, and bioprinting, and for dispensing coatings and sealants in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing. Each valve is customizable and 100% tested to ensure performance.

1Refer to our MINSTAC offerings for compatible tubing assemblies, threaded safety screens and more.
2Some models are rated for 0 - 30 psig only. Reference part number table.
3Typical cycle life on water; actual cycle life will vary depending on application conditions.
4Valve is sensitive to particles that are hard and fibrous. Larger, flexible particles, such as cells, can be qualified for applications.
5Dispensing frequency is based on water flow within the rated pressure range. Response time and dispense volume profile are drive dependent and vary depending on system parameters.
6A spike and hold drive is required for most applications. To ensure solenoid coil temperatures remain within specification, duty cycle limitations may be required. Contact The Lee Company for recommendations specific to your application.

Get Started

Are you ready to get started? We offer a VHS Valve Evaluation Kit (part number IKTX0322000A) for easy setup and development testing of a dispense system. All that is required is a pressurized fluid source, control signal, and a power supply.

One MINSTAC INLET/MINSTAC OUTLET VHS Series solenoid valve (24VDC, EPDM) is included, along with a spike and hold driver, nozzles, and numerous accessories. This M/M configuration allows you to quickly iterate your dispense setup with the use of various threaded 062 MINSTAC nozzles. If you’d like to test a different outlet configuration, those valves can be purchased separately from the kit and must be rated for a 24 VDC spike voltage.

Installation & Accessories

FLUIDIC CONNECTIONS & ACCESSORIES
Our Miniature Inert System of Tubing and Components (MINSTAC) product line offers numerous options for fluidic connection to the VHS Series valves. This includes tubing assemblies optimized for low shear, and low internal volume, as well as inert check valves, safety screens, filters, adapters and unions. Recommended part numbers that enable connection to the barbed or threaded 062 MINSTAC inlet ports are included in the tables below.

NOZZLES
Several dispense nozzles are also listed in the table below. These enable quick and easy testing of various orifice sizes, With jeweled orifices as small as 0.002 of an inch (0.05 mm), these interchangeable straight tube dispense nozzles are capable of dispensing droplets as small as 10 nanoliters and larger volumes depending on the time-metered dosing setup and valve cycle times. Intended to be pushed into soft tubing, they are compatible with the molded port outlet versions of the VHS Series valve (configurations P/P and M/P). Wetted materials are simply stainless steel and sapphire.
