The Lee Company president and CEO Marietta Lee was elected Dec. 4 to chair the board of directors of CBIA, Connecticut’s largest business organization.
Lee, the third generation leader of the family-owned, Westbrook-based fluid control technology manufacturer, succeeds Fuss & O’Neill CEO Kevin Grigg.
The board also elected two vice chairs: Brian Montanari, president and CEO of HABCO Industries, LLC in Glastonbury; and Michael Brooder, Hartford office managing partner of CBIZ, Inc.
“Connecticut’s future is brighter than it has been in a long time, but we have a lot of work to do to reach our potential,” Lee said.
“I am thrilled to be working with such an outstanding and diverse board of directors and staff who will bring their experience and expertise to implement solutions for expanding our workforce and making it easier and more affordable to do business in the state.
“I’m optimistic that through partnership and collaboration, we will tackle the state’s challenges and build an even stronger economy with opportunities for all.”
“Marietta’s insights and perspective have been immensely valuable since the day she was first elected to the board,” said CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima.
“She is an outstanding leader who has the respect of the Connecticut business community.
“We are fortunate to have her as CBIA board chair and we’re excited to see what we accomplish in the year ahead.”
DiPentima thanked Grigg for his “commitment and dedication to the state’s business community and his passion for Connecticut.”
“Kevin’s leadership was instrumental in guiding us through a pivotal year which included the formation of the CBIA Foundation for Economic Growth & Opportunity and the launch of CBIA Health Connections’ innovative new healthcare program for small and medium-sized business employees.”
Grigg will remain on CBIA’s board as immediate past chair.
